Tanzania Mission Trip 2018

Mission trip to Tanzania to teach and encourage future pastors, and evangelize villagers who live around the school.

ITINERARY

Fly into Mwanza, Tanzania. Head to the village where we will teach in the school during the days and go house to house during the afternoons.

MINISTRY

Preaching, Teaching, Evangelism,

Teaching subjects & ministry…

  • Seminar on what the church is and the role of the church
  • Teach the role and place of Music in a Christian service
  • Teach on the role of a pastor in the church, and expository preaching
  • Teach on Grace versus the Law
  • Teach primary health care as a personal responsibility in communities
  • Teach introduction to computers for basic knowledge as a global challenge

Requested resources from the school:

  • A used computer/s with a printer that the school can have to use

Prayer Requests

Pray these things over the students at Majahidi…

  • That the Holy Spirit would go before us and soften the pastor’s hearts.
  • That they would trust in Christ and not material things.
  • That the gospel would penetrate their hearts, despite our Western intellectualism.
  • That they would be open to change and learning.
  • That the they would look to their own shepherds and leaders to know, lead, feed and protect them and not the Westerners.
  • That they would learn what being a shepherd really means.
  • That they will be develop a passion for discipleship.
  • That they would be able to see past our cultural weirdness and be able to see the gospel in their own context, not the affluent white missionary culture.
  • That the people involved with songwriting, music and choirs would have a heart of humility and develop a love for true worship and not entertainment.
  • That God would give the Africans God-glorifying, Biblically-centered, gospel-driven songs of worship.
  • That we would be of one-mind and one-heart grounded in Christ.

Pray these things over the people of Bariadi…

  • That the Holy Spirit would go before us and transform people’s hearts.
  • That people would trust in Christ.
  • For opportunities to share the gospel.
  • That people would have open ears to hear and eyes to see Jesus.
  • That the people would be able to see past our cultural weirdness and be able to see the gospel in their own context, not the affluent white missionary culture.
  • That the people would be able grasp the gospel and the messages despite our Western intellectualism.
  • That the Muslims would be able to see that our gods are different.
  • That Catholics would see that their works can’t save them.
  • That people would come to see and hear any of our presentations.
  • That they would see our love more than our differences.

Pray these things over our African colaborers…

  • That they would be faithful to plant seeds.
  • For boldness to proclaim Christ and Him crucified.
  • To be able to understand us well while interpreting for us, despite our deficiencies.
  • That they would have wisdom to fill in the gaps of our message for the culture and place.
  • For safety as they travel to the villages.
  • For blessings on their families as they part with them for the sake of the Gospel.
  • That God would be glorified in all they do.
  • That the Holy Spirit would guide them as they prepare messages.
  • That they would remain humble and trust in on God for everything.
  • For confidence that the Holy Spirit has guided what they’ve prepared.
  • They would be rested and stress-free.
  • They will have grace to put up with our cultural mistakes and rudeness.

Pray these things over the Americans…

  • When opportunities to share the gospel arise we wouldn’t shy away.
  • That we would be faithful to plant seeds.
  • For boldness to proclaim Christ and Him crucified.
  • For safety as we travel.
  • That God would be glorified in all we do.
  • That the Holy Spirit would guide us as we prepare our messages.
  • That we would remain dependent on God.
  • For confidence that the Holy Spirit has guided what we’ve prepared.
  • We’d have no jet-lag, and stress-free travel.
  • That all paperwork would go through and we’d have no problems getting in and out of the country.
  • We’d be diligent in the meantime with our time and energy, showing ourselves workman that need not to be ashamed.
  • Humility, humility, humility.
  • Servanthood, servanthood, servanthood.

Pray these things over our families…

  • That their hearts would be right. Seeing themselves as servants of all. Loving all the people of the world enough to share their fathers with them.
  • They would see this as a part of the ministry. Freeing up the fathers to travel and taking on a large burden for the sake of the gospel.
  • The moms would have Grace to manage the household without the fathers.
  • The children would be obedient and respectful to their mothers.
  • The children would be loving and kind to their siblings.
  • They wouldn’t feel alone or left by their fathers.
  • We would be able to communicate well while away.
  • That Grace Church would come around the mothers and support in tangible ways.
  • That the mothers and children would be spiritually sustained and fed during this time.
  • That the families would understand their role as supporters of missions through sending.
  • That the families would have time daily to pray for their fathers and the mission.

 

The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
